Who We Are

UNICEF Red is the official chapter for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF was founded in 1947 to support the work of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) by raising funds for its programs and increasing awareness of the challenges facing the world’s children. The oldest of 37 national committees for UNICEF worldwide, we are part of a global effort to save, protect and improve children’s lives.

UNICEF promotes the rights and well-being of every child in 190 countries and territories, with a special focus on reaching those in greatest need. UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind – to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. Contributions through our chapter will be matched by the George Harrison Foundation.
